Why 8Future

Our Founding Belief

The world does not lack intelligence. It lacks insight — the understanding that comes from integrating what we know across disciplines, places, and people.

That connection starts locally, where ideas and decisions take real shape, and multiplies when it’s shared freely with a global network.

What We’re Building

We’re building a long-term, international institute — not a one-time event. Founding members help shape it from the start. Our goal isn’t to predict the future. It’s to understand big shifts early, see how they connect, and turn that into better decisions and real options for how we live and work.

Mission

Our mission is to boldly reimagine how progress happens — integrating intelligence across disciplines, cultures and generations to improve the decisions that shape our future.

Why Now

The future is moving faster than any single company, institution, or person can track alone. And the biggest questions increasingly sit between fields, not inside one:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Medicine
  • Longevity
  • Demography
  • Economies & Institutions
  • Capital
  • What Scales
  • The Next Questions
  • back to Artificial Intelligence

What is the Founding Assembly

It is a day of dialogue and decision-making. This isn’t a conference.

This is the moment for you to shape something built to last. It is a rare first opportunity to convene with a special group of people in formal and informal positions of influence, people who others already turn to; curious, collaborative, and willing to challenge easy answers. You’ll be among people from different fields, generations, and parts of the world who think just as differently.

We gather to shape what 8Future becomes globally and in your local area. Miss the Founding Assembly, and you only get to join what’s already been decided.

The room is composed so that no single form of intelligence can dominate it.

Builders, scientists, and technologists. Entrepreneurs, investors, and family offices. Educators, sociologists, and institutional leaders will work together. Much of the value of the day is simply who is beside you, and how differently they see the same problem. Each perspective is welcomed because the tough questions cannot be identified or answered without it.

Through careful curation, a real diversity of intelligence, and rich dialogue, we’ll provide the conditions that make new ideas, collaborations, research, investments, and friendships possible.

Sample Agenda

We’ll sit at the table together in dialogue rather than listening to formal presentations. We’ll bring our strongest thinking on the questions that matter most, then ask you — and everyone at the table — to test it, sharpen it, and add what we’re missing.

  1. Explore the shifts that no single field can explain on its own.

  2. Follow where they lead — the opportunities, and the risks, that only come into view when you look across disciplines.

  3. Find where our paths might join, in ideas, research, or collaboration.

  4. Determine what could be possible together that wouldn’t be possible when working in silos.

  5. Shape what 8Future becomes next — our purpose, questions, and the systemic work that follows.

What’s In It for You

You’ll leave the Founding Assembly with…

New relationships, research leads, and a mandate for what happens next.

A sharper, tested purpose for the institution.

One clear way to influence and explain 8Future, in any language.

A short list of priority questions to work on next — the Founding Intelligence Agenda.

Location

The Herrenhaus Dietschiberg has stood above Lucerne since 1582 and today the protected manor pairs that long history with calm, contemporary rooms made for gathering and talking, with views across the lake to the Alps. It felt right to begin a conversation about what deserves to last in a place that already has.

Our Immediate Focus

The Critical Opportunity

We will focus on three fields of innovation in October: AI, longevity, and global finance.

AI, longevity, and global finance don’t move in separate lanes — they’re already shaping each other. Across all three, and where they intersect, we ask the same four questions: what does the science make possible, who benefits and on whose terms, what does it do to systems already under strain, and what does it mean for a good, long life. 8Future brings the people, like you, building, funding and governing this future into one room to work through those questions together — before the answers that will shape the coming decades get decided without us.

Artificial Intelligence

AI is moving faster than the institutions meant to govern it. 8Future’s AI track puts builders, regulators, and the people affected in the same room to decide how it gets used — before that decision gets made without them.

Longevity

Science can now extend not just lifespan, but healthy years. 8Future’s Longevity track exists to make sure that breakthrough reaches everyone, not just the people who can already afford it.

Global Finance

Money moves faster than the rules meant to govern it. 8Future’s Global Finance track brings the people building new financial systems together with the people accountable for them — before the gap between the two gets dangerous.

Who’s Behind 8Future

Meet The Organizing Team

The people behind 8Future have spent decades building real things — blockchain infrastructure, aviation systems, health equity programs, design practice. They lead with expertise, not ego. What matters isn’t their titles. It’s that they’ll ask the hard questions and know when to lead and when to step back and let someone else’s answer carry the room.
